Perfume tips by Beautyme publisher Karin Sawetz: Two old classics and two new eau de parfums

A few weeks ago, I began to wear again older perfumes from my collection. Some of them are already hard to find on the regular market like one of my favorites Lolita Lempicka 'Minuit Noir' (2010), a women's scent that warms on foggy, dark evenings like finely spiced liqueur-chocolate, or Odin '02 Owari' (2009) which refreshes the wearer (men, women) in the morning with Asian mandarin, grapefruit, bergamot and relaxes over the day with warm notes like musk from Chinese mountains.
Some perfumes have an invisible timestamp and lose their appeal such as other products that are following the 'fast fashion' rhythm; they are super-chic for just one season and become obsolete quickly. Not so with the two mentioned fragrances above. Both are comparable to classical music by Mozart, Beethoven or Bach whose compositions are timeless due to their quality. But with fragrances it's in many cases like with fashion; the availability is limited.

This year, I tested some new perfumes with comparable qualities concerning 'fast fashion' persisting compositions. Two of them are from Etro. 'Udaipur' eau de parfum (for men, women) was featured on Beautyme at the trend tip 'Traveling the World' in March and has since then proven to be an elegant companion over the months. By the way, Udaipur is probably one of the safest Christmas gift tips I can provide for perfume in 2018.

The second fragrance of Etro is called 'Musk - Eau de Parfum' and can be worn by women and men (snapshot on this page). It landed on my with seasonal plants decorated table recently - but I am already excited about this new scent. At the description of the new interpretation of the classic Etro 'Musk - Eau de Toilette' (2004), the eau de parfum (EdP has a higher concentration of essences than EdT) is described with a poem-like text about a walk through the forest over grass, leaves and tree barks. The new 'Musk' is decorated with a purple tassel and is packed in a box with Etro's typical paisley pattern how it can be found at the current collections Fall/Winter 2018/19 or Spring/Summer 2019 'Paisley Land' (backstage pictures show surf- and skateboards with Etro's paisleys). On the occasion of this year's 50th anniversary of the company, Etro presented fashion pieces and fabric patterns from the archives at the 'Generation Paisley' exhibition in Milan.

I almost forgot to mention that Etro 'Musk Eau de Parfum' is a limited edition. In Austria and Germany, the EdP is available since October.
