7 June 2020 Recently, Fashion.at received the new eau de cologne '44 Gerrard Street' by Atkinsons for testing. But it was not the first time that I've applied the scent and compared it with other new fragrances. The premiere happened just some days before the world started to become aware of the outbreak of the pandemic. This was at the end of February when people held discussions about the flu and the new virus as if they had researched both. I tested various scents on that day in Vienna and remember well the eucalyptus, green lemon, ginger opening as an almost healing scent for my mood which was negatively impacted by my worries about the future. This week, the eau de cologne arrived at Fashion.at. The matte orange glass bottle with velvety rough surface is a haptic experience that compensates for a moment the touch-reduced, handshake-free time of the pandemic which lasts in Austria since around three months.
The energizing opening of the fragrance is continued by a floral bouquet and amber with woody notes. The last mentioned warm, spicy accords with reminders of the lemon-ginger top notes stay over the day. The unisex composition tends to have a masculine scent. |
