14 November 2025 ![]() A Salon Event at the Heart of ViennaSteinmetz-Bundy Privatsalon and fashion designer JCH Jürgen Christian Hoerl hosted "The Ball Edition," an event offering an early glimpse of Vienna's upcoming ball season, held this week at the hairdressing salon. Both houses are long-established names: Steinmetz-Bundy is known for high-level hair artistry, Hoerl for elegant couture created in Vienna. Their locations lie only steps away from the Staatsoper, where the city's most famous ball will return on 12 February 2026 for its 68th edition. The Setting: A City of BallsVienna celebrates more than 450 balls each season. Before the Opera Ball arrives, many other highlights fill the calendar: the Silvester Gala on 31 December, the popular Zuckerbäckerball on 15 January, the elegant Philharmoniker Ball on 22 January, and the entertaining Jägerball on 26 January, among others. A well curated overview is available via the city's ball calendar on ganz-wien.at.Fashion, Hair, and a Total LookThe event welcomed numerous guests from media and culture. Five models presented more than 30 gowns from Hoerl's 2025/26 collection. The Steinmetz-Bundy team styled matching updos and modern finishes, demonstrating how cohesive looks can be achieved with a few targeted steps. The message of the evening: a strong ball appearance does not require excessive effort. Current hairstyling trends include naturally shaped updos with soft movement and the shiny "glass hair" effect.Refined Looks for the 2025/26 SeasonThe evening highlighted how professional guidance simplifies even complex styling decisions. Hoerl's gowns—crafted from silk, velvet, lace and especially lightweight, fluid fabrics—created elegant silhouettes in shades from deep red and gold to sapphire blue and fuchsia. A key trend was the use of materials that move softly and appear almost watery in motion. The Steinmetz-Bundy team underlined the relevance of soft, natural shapes, subtle movement, and secure hold for the entire night, along with the polished hair finish achieved through precise care and tools. Guests were encouraged to choose gowns that match their personality, rely on flowing fabrics and a touch of shine in the hair, use only one or two standout accessories, and keep makeup subtle for a natural, confident appearance.Images: At the left, Jürgen Christian Hoerl and Hannes Steinmetz stand in the Steinmetz-Bundy Privatsalon holding a bright pink evening gown, surrounded by dresses on racks; behind them are fashion posters.
