The Maria Callas Estate and The Merchant of Venice have teamed up to create a tribute eau de parfum

The 100th birthday of Maria Callas (December 2, 1923 - September 16, 1977) was celebrated last December with the launch of a tribute perfume by the Venetian perfumer 'The Merchant of Venice', inspired by the personality and style of the legendary soprano. The perfumer was commissioned by the Maria Callas Estate, an institution that represents and preserves the impressive cultural and material heritage of the famous opera singer, to create a fragrance to celebrate the centenary of the artist's birth. In 1949, the opera house marked an important milestone in the career of Maria Callas. Appearing in the same season as Brünhilde in Richard Wagner's Die Walküre and as Elvira in Vincenzo Bellini's I puritani, Callas' performance and broad repertoire caused a sensation in the opera world.

Now, two months after the initial launch in Venice, the high-end perfumer has announced that the fragrance will be released in Germany and Austria from March 2024. Fashion.at was told by phone today that the perfume will be available in stores and online in Austria, for example at Kastner & Öhler in Graz, Styria and at Adler Apotheke in Wels, Lower Austria. No further details about the list of stores are available yet.
