![]() Amazon is a favorite of Austrians when it comes to shopping. In the company's transparency report, Austria is in the top ranking of countries by the number of average monthly users, despite its small population (about 9 million in 2022). It's with average monthly active users of 5,698,882 on the fitfh position in the country ranking with Germany leading with more than 60 million active users per month (source https://assets.aboutamazon.com/cd/28/4d02dd2e41ec8c6d1bc341e9d919/amazon-eu-store-transparency-report-jan-june-2023.pdf). On the other hand, according to the insights for 2022 published by Amazon Austria, more than 2500 small and medium sized companies sell products on the platform with more than 550 million euros in export sales. Exporting is a buzzword for small and medium-sized businesses that want to collaborate with Amazon. One of them is Berlin-based vegan nail polish maker OZN, which partnered with Amazon to launch a new exclusive nail color called 'Pippa.' The limited-edition shade, which went on sale yesterday, is a blend of bright orange and soft pink inspired by Pantone's Color of the Year 2024, 'Peach Fuzz.' Known for its sustainable production, OZN's nail polishes are made with 90% eco-friendly raw materials such as wood, potatoes, beetroot, spelt, sugar cane, cassava or corn and contain nail care vitamins - from A, C, E to Pro B. The collaboration highlights OZN's commitment to quality and sustainability, with innovative packaging and a dual brush system for user convenience. This partnership is part of Amazon's ongoing initiative to work with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Since 2021, Amazon has teamed up with various small businesses in Germany to create exclusive products, offering them a significant platform to reach a broader audience. In 2021 alone, over 45,000 German SMEs sold products on Amazon, achieving substantial export sales. Image: The picture shows Nina Skarabela, co-founder and creative mind of the brand OZN.
