Hair Trends 2026/27: Intercoiffure Austria Puts Movement and Me-Time in Focus

Four hairstyles from Intercoiffure Austria's 'timeLESS Me' 2026/27 collection featuring a long mullet, textured curls, a shag cut and a curly pixie with natural movement.
Quick Read

• Intercoiffure Austria presented its Hair Collection timeLESS Me 2026/27 as a preview of upcoming salon trends.
• The looks emphasise movement, natural curl patterns and styling flexibility rather than rigid perfection.
• Key cuts include the Long Mullet, Shagcut with Birkin bangs and Curly Pixie.
• The collection links hair fashion to a wider theme of me-time and personal reflection in a fast-changing world.

What stands out immediately in Intercoiffure Austria's new Hair Collection timeLESS Me 2026/27 is not a single dominant cut, but a shared attitude. The hairstyles look adaptable, textured and in motion. Curls appear lively rather than carefully brushed into place, and layered shapes are allowed to keep a slightly unruly character that changes as the wearer moves.

For Austria's salon industry, the collection attracts attention because it comes from Intercoiffure Austria, the Austrian branch of Intercoiffure Mondial, the international organisation founded in Paris in 1925. The network brings together around 2,000 leading salons and hair professionals in more than 40 countries. In Austria, about 100 member salons participate in the exchange of technical training, colour trends and creative collections, which makes the organisation an influential reference point for professional hair fashion.

From polished styling to expressive texture

The 2026/27 collection reflects a broader shift away from overly controlled styling. Instead of smooth surfaces and fixed silhouettes, the cuts rely on layers, bends and natural volume. The result is a look that feels more spontaneous and easier to personalise. The emphasis is not on making every strand behave identically, but on using texture as part of the design.

Intercoiffure Austria describes this approach as a response to a period shaped by technological change, constant updates and rapidly shifting lifestyles. The collection's title, timeLESS Me, refers less to nostalgia than to the idea of creating small moments of pause and self-attention. In this reading, a salon visit becomes a brief interruption of everyday acceleration before returning to work, travel and digital routines with renewed energy.

The cuts that define the season

Among the strongest women's looks is the Shagcut with Birkin bangs, built around strong layering and a deliberately undone finish. It gives naturally wavy or curled hair room to move and works equally well with air-dried texture or soft styling.

The Curly Pixie turns short hair into a statement by keeping the curl pattern visible instead of flattening it. The cut is designed to work with both curly and straight styling variations, underlining the collection's focus on versatility.

For men, the Long Mullet emerges as the clearest trend signal. Intercoiffure presents it in both straight and curly versions, showing how the same cut can appear graphic and sharp one day and relaxed and textured the next.

A playful answer to a fast-moving era

Another notable aspect is that many of the looks can be recreated without dramatic salon intervention. Loose curls from rollers or traditional papillotes can already shift the mood of a haircut from daytime simplicity to evening volume. The collection therefore suggests experimentation rather than strict rules.

Seen together, the timeLESS Me looks propose an optimistic response to contemporary life. The hairstyles acknowledge that daily routines are becoming faster and more unpredictable, but they answer that pressure with movement, softness and a touch of playful disorder. Instead of promising control over a changing world, they offer a reminder that a little time for oneself — and perhaps a fresh set of curls — can still change the way the next day begins.
