The idea of a car interpreted as olfactory composition and bottled in metallic box

At the beginning of this year the new fragrance from the Ferrari Essence collection was announced. Now in mid-August 2014, the release date for Germany/Austria was made public: it will come into shops in October/November (in some countries, the scent is already available). The Ferrari fragrance is inspired by car enthusiasts' 'Gran Turismo'-spirit and combines the visual appearance of legendary automotive design and the olfactory idea of a car ride along the sea (bergamot from Calabria, southern Italy) and through Mediterreanan mountains - last mentioned mountain ride is interpreted with notes like blue cedar - the scent's name giver: Cedar Essence.

The design of the packaging and flacon is derived from the car itself: the metallic-blue bottle makes think of the engine cowling with the signature horse logo and serigraph. The flacon's closure reminds the gear shift with grey leather - and not on view on this page, the embossed Cavallino emblem on the cap. The silver-blue packaging (on the image left) reflects with its signature overstitching in matching colours visually the interior design of the Ferrari Gran Turismo cars.
