Love is in the air

Ever thought spring is the best time to evoke love feelings? In August 2010, Fashionoffice has experienced that the beauty and lifestyle business decided that even autumn is a nice season to fall in love.

Fashionoffice has collected some pieces, inspired by a press day about new fragrances from Paris.

'Marry me!' Eau de Parfum for women by Lanvin, FW2010/11.
The perfume was presented to the press with a picture-booklet which tells a love story that plays on selected romantic places in Paris like the Pont des Arts, Café de Flore, Montmatre.... Each of the presented places is enriched with a text similar to love poems which are used as introductions into the art of loving. The 'love poems' are illustrated with the view on the place and the loving couple in the starring role.

Fashionoffice has received the booklet together with the fragrance. How it tastes? Fashionoffice receives many perfumes; this one is exceptional. The creator of the scent must be a very sensual, romantic 'nose'; the composition of bitter orange, jasmin, magnolia, rose, peach, amber and musk evokes in the beginning a happy inner laugh, continued by a comfortable feeling. After applying it, the scent spends freshness for hours. The perfume was composed by Antoine Maisondieu.

Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin, has designed the bottle and reinterpreted Lanvin's signature knot motif.

Bed linen illustrated with Ovid's love poems 'Amores' in Latin in handwriting style, by the Austrian environmental friendly label 'Grüne Erde' (means translated 'Green Earth') , FW2010/11. "Aestus erat, mediamque dies exegerat horam; adposui medio membra levanda toro..." Find a nice, (very) free and sexy translation online.

'Instrument BR I01-92 Compass' by Bell & Ross, limited edition of 500 pieces, FW2010/11. The design of the watch is inspired by an air navigation tool from the cockpit of a plane. The time is readable on the two discs; on the outside disc the hours and inside the minutes.

'Midnight In Paris' men's Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette by Van Cleef & Arpels, FW2010/11. The French high-jewellery house makes since 1976 perfumes which are inspired by Van Cleef & Arpels' main products. Now, this is the first men's fragrance inspired by a time piece. The men's watch shows the map of the stars seen from Paris and changes with time. The map looks like on the flacon on this page. The watch is part of the 'Poetic Complications' timepiece collection.

"Midnight In Paris is an exceptional watch that unites the jewellery skill and poetic expression of the design house, and is an accurate recreation of the midnight sky seen from the Place Vendôme. A unique and extremely complex mechanical movement links the concept of time with that of the Cosmos. A dazzling homage to this other mysterious and fascinating world." states Van Cleef & Arpels.

The fragrance - which got during the press day nice remarks like "With this scent on, I won't let him go out alone." - is created by Domitille Bertier in collaboration with Olivier Polge.
