The winners of the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards 2015

Mexican film director Guillermo del Toro (upcoming movie 'Crimson Peak' - release in October 2015) is one of the winners of the  Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards 2015 which were handed out on 14 February at the Paramount Studios Theatre in Los Angeles.

fig.: Guillermo del Toro (started his film career in the make-up department) received the 'Distinguished Artisan Award' through the hands of his friend, collaborator and on this evening one of the award-presenters Ron Perlman. (IMDB rumors that Golden Globe-winner Perlman will play in del Toro's 'Hellboy 3'.)

7-times Oscar winner Rick Baker (make-up for 'The Wolfman', 'Men in Black', 'The Nutty Professor'...) was honored with the 'Make-Up Artist Lifetime Achievement Award'. In the category hair/lifetime award, Emmy and Bafta winner Kathryn Blondell (hair stylist of Leonardo DiCaprio in 'The Wolf of Wall Street', 'The Great Gatsby', 'Django Unchained') received the 'Hair Stylist Lifetime Achievement Award'.

To name only the first listed awards from in sum 19 categories of film, television and new media series, commercials and music videos, theatre/live stage: Elizabeth Yianni-Georgiou won in the category 'Best Contemporary Make-Up' for 'Guardians of the Galaxy'; the 'Best Contemporary Hair Styling'-award went to Jerry Popolis and Kat Drazen for the movie 'Birdman'.
